Ottawa Family New Year’s Eve Activities

OK OK OK this post is getting a little last minute. But if you are anything like me you are sitting here last minute looking for Ottawa family New Year’s Eve activities to enjoy with your family. There are always the home parties but for those of you who don’t have somewhere to go or partying it up at a house party with your kids is not your cup of tea, here are a few suggestions.



OTTAWA FAMILY NEW YEAR'S EVE ACTIVITIES

Hogmanay: A family-friendly New Year’s Eve party

KidsZone: Horticulture Building, with highland dancing, face painting, crafts, family fun. A 7 pm celebration for kids in the Horticulture building in sync with midnight in Scotland with a balloon drop.

Time: 5:00 pm – 1:00 am
Where: Aberdeen Pavillion
Price: Admission by donation until 7pm $10pp after 7pm. Tickets at door or on Eventbrite.

Fireworks at midnight!

Alcohol-Free New Years Eve

Too many activities for the kids to name including, skating, sleigh rides and bouncy castles.

Time: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Where: 101 Centrepointe Drive

New Years Eve Kid Party

Each party will be complete with fun New Year’s themed activities, noisemakers & hats for the kids as well as a countdown at “midnight” all together in our dining room.

Time: Lunch countdown 2:00pm (seating starting @ 1pm), Dinner countdown 5:00pm (seating starting @ 4:00pm)
Where: Boston Pizza Barrhaven
Price: Food and Drink purchases

FAMILY FUN: NEW YEAR’S PARTY

Explore musical traditions from around the world. Kick-off the New Year with a bounce in your step and a song in your heart! Go big in 2020 with music, games, and dance.

Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Where: Canadian Museum of History Grand Hall
Price: Included with cost of admission

This birthday kind of sucks but he is making the best of it. He was very happy to announce to us that he was 9. Gifts have been dropped off by family members and he is feeling the love.⁣

Happy Birthday Ryan. Mom and dad love you very much, even when you drive us crazy.

⁣Since April my Nana has been battling cancer. She peacefully passed away yesterday afternoon. I am so grateful for the time my children had to know her. You will be missed Nana. We are comforted knowing you are no longer in pain.
I know I am not alone when it comes to worrying ab I know I am not alone when it comes to worrying about what to do this Halloween with the kids. Some are choosing to still go trick or treating. Some are looking for alternatives.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I am one of those looking for alternatives. Due to many reasons our family has taken this pandemic very seriously. We are sticking to our bubble are are children are remote learning. Going trick or treating in the eyes of my husband and myself defeats everything we have done to stay safe.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
